Clean Ash and Biochar
The ash and biochar left after burning are natural soil amendments. Spread directly on-site, donated to local farms, or collected and sold as a soil amendment. What was woody waste becomes usable material.
Recycled Metal
Nails, staples, screws, metal brackets, and hardware from structural lumber and pallets all fall to the bottom of the FireBox burn chamber. After the burn, the metal is collected and can be sent for scrap recycling. Nothing is wasted — and no sorting is required before loading.

Can the FireBox handle lumber with nails, screws, and metal hardware?
Yes, and this is one of the biggest labor-saving advantages for C&D operations. Air Burners FireBoxes accept clean structural lumber, pallets, and crates with nails, staples, screws, and metal hardware still attached. The metal falls to the bottom of the burn chamber during the burn and can be collected afterward for scrap recycling. No sorting, no pre-processing, no separate metal removal pass required.
What do I need to move the FireBox?
Boss Series (BurnBoss, TrackBoss, CharBoss):
- BurnBoss — tows behind a standard heavy-duty pickup truck, standard 2″ ball hitch
- TrackBoss — self-propelled on rubber tracks, no tow vehicle needed for on-site movement; trailer for road transport
- CharBoss — trailer-mounted, tows behind a heavy-duty pickup, standard 2″ ball hitch
FireBox Series (100, 200, 300 Series):
- 100 Series requires a flatbed, lowboy, slide-axle, or RGN trailer with appropriate heavy tow vehicle
- 200 Series requires a flatbed, lowboy, slide-axle, or RGN trailer with appropriate heavy tow vehicle
- 300 Series requires a oversize road permits on flatbed, lowboy, slide-axle, or RGN trailer with appropriate heavy tow vehicle

What types of C&D wood waste can the FireBox handle?
Virtually all clean wood waste generated on construction and demolition sites — dimensional lumber, framing, floor joists, roof trusses, sheathing, decking, pallets, wooden crates, packaging wood, root mass, stumps, and cleared trees. Material can be wet or dry, fresh or aged. The one limitation is treated or painted wood — always check local regulations regarding the burning of treated lumber in your area. Most regulations will only allow to process wood waste without glues, paints, and chemical treatments.
How does cost compare to hauling and tipping?

Can I use a FireBox on a site with air quality restrictions?
In many regulated areas, yes. All Air Burners machines were tested by the US EPA and meet US EPA 40CFR60 requirements — reducing smoke particulates by up to 98% compared to open burning. Many air quality districts permit Air Burners machines where open pile burning is prohibited. Yes. Air Burners machines are available for both purchase and rental — making them practical for one-off projects as well as ongoing operations.
